🧠💛 Co-Regulation Starts With One Simple Step Chil 🧠💛 Co-Regulation Starts With One Simple Step

Children aren’t born knowing how to manage big feelings - they learn through us.
That’s where co-regulation comes in. Before children can regulate themselves, they need a calm adult to guide them.

✨ Step 1: Name the Emotion

When a child is overwhelmed, frustrated, or upset, help them put words to what they’re feeling:

👉 “You look angry.”
👉 “I can see you’re feeling sad.”
👉 “That was scary for you.”

Naming the emotion helps children:
• Feel seen and understood
• Calm their nervous system
• Build emotional awareness
• Learn healthy ways to express feelings

Remember:
Connection comes before correction.
A calm adult helps a child become calm.

✝️🌿 A Blessed Easter from The Nanny Movement 🌿✝️ ✝️🌿 A Blessed Easter from The Nanny Movement 🌿✝️

As we celebrate this holy season, we are reminded of the true meaning of Easter - the hope, love, and new life we have through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

"He is not here; He has risen, just as He said." - Matthew 28:6

May this Easter fill your hearts and homes with peace, faith, and renewed strength. We are grateful for the dedication, compassion, and love that our nannies and families show to children every day - nurturing them with kindness and care.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and blessed Easter.

With love,
The Nanny Movement 🤍
Today we stand together for Autism Awareness Day. Today we stand together for Autism Awareness Day. 💙

At The Nanny Movement, we believe every child deserves to be understood, supported, and celebrated for who they are.

Autism is not a behavior problem.
It is a different way of experiencing the world — and with the right understanding, patience, and support, children with autism can thrive.

As caregivers, nannies, and parents, our role is not to change the child, but to adapt our approach with compassion, structure, and consistency.

Awareness leads to understanding.
Understanding leads to acceptance.
Acceptance creates safe spaces for children to grow.

Today, we encourage all caregivers to:
💙 Be patient
💙 Be observant
💙 Be kind
💙 Keep learning

Because every child communicates — sometimes we just need to learn how to listen differently.

Happy Autism Awareness Day from The Nanny Movement.
Children don’t misbehave because they are bad. The Children don’t misbehave because they are bad.
They behave that way because they don’t yet know how to manage big emotions.

Emotional regulation is a skill - and adults teach it through calm responses, not punishment.

Every meltdown, tantrum, or outburst is an opportunity to teach a child how to feel safe, understood, and in control of their emotions.

Tip:
👉 Stay calm first. A regulated adult helps regulate a child.

This coming month we are focusing on something eve This coming month we are focusing on something every caregiver needs to understand - Emotional Regulation, Discipline, and Behaviour.

Children are not born knowing how to manage big feelings, follow rules, or make good choices. These are skills that must be taught with patience, consistency, and understanding.

Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing practical tips, real-life examples, and simple strategies to help nannies and parents:
• Understand children’s behaviour
• Respond to big emotions calmly
• Use discipline that teaches - not punishes
• Build confident, emotionally secure children

Because behind every behaviour is a feeling… and behind every calm child is a calm adult. 💛
